Routine & Nail Care

With many years of experience, we can provide specialist treatment for a variety of foot and nail conditions.

New patients will receive a thorough foot health check at initial appointment including assessment of the vascular status of the feet using Doppler ultrasound and neurological examinations as required.

If you require nail surgery to rectify a nail problem, trust our podiatrists to support you at every step of your treatment.

Treatment of corns and calluses

Calluses are hardened areas of skin that most often develop over areas of pressure such as the heels or ball of your foot.

Corns usually develop due to excessively high pressure in a smaller area and occur over boney areas where there is little padding such as the tops of your toes.

Our podiatrists are skilled in the treatment of these problems and can also provide advice on self care or if required provide specialised insoles (orthotics).

Problematic nails

Nail health is often an indicator of your general health. Troublesome nails vary in presentation but can include:

  • Thickened nails
  • Fungal nails
  • Infected nails
  • Loose nails
  • Traumatised nails
  • Pitting nails

Our podiatrists will assess and treat your nail problems and advise you on self care and any further treatment interventions that may be required.

Are you suffering from ingrown toenails?

If you find your toes are swollen and painful around the nail, you may be suffering from an ingrown toenail.

Ingrown toenails are a common nail complaint. They can be very painful and often become infected requiring antibiotic cover. Here at York Podiatry Ltd we can assess and treat your symptoms which may require surgical intervention to remove the whole or part of the problematic nail.
