Achilles Tendinopathy

Pain, aching or stiffness at the back of your lower leg may be a sign of damage to your Achilles tendon. Pain in a tendon will often feel worse after periods of rest but decrease with movement.

This can be acute – short term, or chronic – ongoing, affecting your daily activities and ability to participate in sport. It can be caused by a sudden increase in activity, age, footwear choice and systemic health conditions.

We can diagnose which part of the tendon has suffered damage, to what extent and determine what method of treatment is best for you. Treatments include activity modification, laser therapy, shockwave therapy, stretching and strength exercises and insole/orthotic therapies.
