Pain around your ankle may, amongst many things, be due to arthritis, a sprain or strain if you have rolled your ankle, or just an unstable foot which is putting pressure on the structures around the joint and causing discomfort.
By carrying out a biomechanical assessment, we can identify the underlying cause of the pain; this may be due to your foot posture, reduced movement, how your foot is functioning in walking or running or an imbalance or deficit in the supporting muscles.
Once a working diagnosis is obtained, we can recommend specific strength and mobility exercises for improving ankle stability and we may also recommend custom orthotics to support healthy foot posture. Both these treatments will improve your balance and confidence in getting around, playing sports or doing physical activities. We can also make use of our Laser therapy and shockwave technology to reduce any pain and inflammation and speed up healing to get you back to your activities faster.
