Our team is fully qualified and experienced in assessing and treating the feet of people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Through regular check-ups we can help monitor, prevent and treat foot problems associated with diabetes. Our diabetic foot check involves an extensive range of assessments including:
- Vascular assessment using doppler ultrasound to determine the health of the blood supply to the feet;
- Neurological assessments to evaluate a person’s ability to feel using appropriate devices to detect different sensations;
- Plantar pressure measurements. Using state-of-the-art equipment we can measure pressures on the plantar aspect of the feet and determine areas which may be vulnerable to breakdown/ulceration.
The above information helps us determine your current foot health risk status and assist us in planning your foot care pathway. We follow strict NICE guidelines on the care of the Diabetic foot and refer on appropriately when required using this framework.
