When routine nail care is not suitable, our team may advise that a surgical approach to your nail condition is the most effective treatment plan. Our Podiatrists are skilled in the surgical removal of either part or all of a nail, which offers a permanent solution to painful, infected, damaged or ingrown nails.
Following the administration of a local anaesthetic we will skilfully remove the offending nail or nail section and if required use a chemical (phenol) to cauterise the cells that make that part of the nail to prevent re-growth.
We will see you at regular intervals throughout the healing process and provide you with a dressing pack for self care at home. In our York clinics we have the added benefit of being able to apply laser therapy to your surgical site to help speed up recovery for you.

Cancellations: We may implement a charge to those who fail to attend their appointments without adequate notice. This will be a standard charge of 50% of the appointment missed and will be required to be paid BEFORE booking or receiving any further treatment. Adequate notice is at least 1 working days notice from the time of your appointment. Please call whenever possible to cancel so we can implement the change straight away and please do not email cancellations.
